How to get to Palermo

From Palermo Airport to Saracen Sands
The Saracen Sands Hotel & Congress Centre is accessible from the airport by taxi. The airport taxi service operates from the Arrivals Area exit and is available to coincide with all flight arrival times.
Participants can either take a taxi or travel by train to Palermo Centrale, getting off at Isola delle Femmine station.
Trains from the airport to Isola delle Femmine station run approximately every 20 minutes during the day and the ride to reach Isola delle Femmine Station takes between 10 to 20 minutes.
Upon your arrival in Palermo, you will find our Welcome Desk located in the Arrivals Area. Our staff will be delighted to assist you and provide any information you may need.
From Palermo City Centre to Saracen Sands
The Conference Venue is accessible from Palermo City Centre by taxi or train.
Trenitalia’s regional service (https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html) offers a train from Palermo Centrale station to Isola delle Femmine station, departing every 30 minutes and it takes between 35 to 40 minutes.
During the congress days (Monday, 8th September to Friday, 12th September), shuttles will be provided between Isola delle Femmine train station and the Saracen Sands at the following times:
• 08:00 AM: Isola delle Femmine train station to Saracen Sands
• 05:30 PM: Saracen Sands to Isola delle Femmine train station
Above-mentioned times may be slightly adjusted, in accordance with the final conference schedule and social events
Transfers by bus from Palermo city center to the Conference Venue will also be provided each morning. Pick-up points are Teatro Massimo and Teatro Politeama, with final arrival at Saracen Sands (with no intermediate stops along the route).
The schedule will be communicated at a later date and will be aligned with the official Conference opening hours.
